1. Our SMS program

CancelSolar.org operates a single, transactional SMS program used only to send messages directly related to your eligibility review or active case. Examples:

Receipt confirmation after you submit your eligibility form
Document requests from our intake team
Appointment reminders
Status updates on your case
Confirmations of attorney referrals

Frequency: as needed — typically 1–6 messages per active case over a period of weeks. Frequency varies by case.

We do not operate a marketing or promotional SMS program. We do not send recurring promotional, educational, or newsletter texts.

2. How to opt in

You can opt in by checking the SMS consent box (separately listed and never pre-checked) on the eligibility form at cancelsolar.org/eligibility.

Opt-in to SMS is never a condition of receiving any service from CancelSolar.org. You can submit the eligibility form without checking the SMS box, and we will respond by email instead.

Upon opt-in, you will receive a confirmation message similar to:

"CancelSolar: You're subscribed to case updates. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Msg freq varies. Msg & data rates may apply."

3. How to opt out

You may opt out at any time by replying with any of the following keywords to a message you've received from us:

STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT

Upon receipt of your opt-out, we will:

Send a single confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out;
Cease sending messages within a commercially reasonable time;
Retain a record of your opt-out for compliance purposes.

You may also opt out by emailing [email protected] with your phone number.

4. Getting help

Reply HELP to any text message from us to receive a response containing program contact information. You may also email [email protected] or call (844) 777-0373.

5. Costs

CancelSolar.org does not charge you for SMS messages. Message and data rates may apply based on your plan with your wireless carrier. Check with your carrier for details.

6. Supported carriers

SMS messages are sent through major U.S. wireless carriers, including but not limited to AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, Cricket, and Virgin Mobile.

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed.

7. Eligibility

To opt in to our SMS program, you must:

Be at least 18 years old;
Be the account holder of, or have authority to consent to messages sent to, the mobile number provided;
Be located in the United States and using a U.S. mobile carrier.

8. Privacy & data sharing

Mobile information is never shared. Your mobile phone number, SMS opt-in status, and any data collected through SMS interactions are not shared, sold, or rented to any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. This is a hard rule. We share information only with service providers strictly necessary to operate the SMS service (e.g., the messaging platform itself), under contractual confidentiality.

9. Changes

We may update these SMS Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes affecting active subscribers will be communicated by SMS and/or email.

10. Acceptance

By opting in to a CancelSolar.org SMS program you agree to these SMS Terms of Service, our Terms & Conditions, and our Privacy Policy.
